AMOSE

Lille-based French artist AMOSE began his creative career in 1996 by studying illustration at the Saint Luc Institute in Belgium and then at the Beaux-Arts Academy in Tournai. Together with four other former students of the Saint Luc Institute (Eroné, Nada, Spyre and Sfer) AMOSE formed the MERCUROCROME collective. From 2003 to 2010 they worked together on various projects such as murals and exhibitions. Since 2010 he has been working alone and has set up his own screen printing workshop.

Style and technique of AMOSE

At first glance AMOSE works are highly graphic, at second glance the viewer discovers human curves and forms and abstract faces. The artist consciously deconstructs the human body in order to put it together anew, always maintaining the naturally given dynamics. In spite of abstract graphic working methods, a new liveliness emerges with a dreamy and at the same time distanced impression. Clean, graphic forms mix with delicate lines, swings and colours to a vitality that is typical and unique for AMOSE murals and prints. AMOSE uses techniques such as traditional painting, screen printing, spray paint and illustrations.

Large wall paintings, silkscreen prints and collages are part of the portfolio of the French artist. He has already painted murals in various cities around the world such as Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Djerba and Paris. In 2011, he painted a mural at the first City Leaks Festival in Cologne, which is always highly admirable.

Solo and group exhibitions took place in Chicago, Bern, Vienna, Paris and Berlin.

The artist finds inspiration in Brazilian wall art and in artists of Futurism.
